Janet Jackson has released her first new studio album in seven years, Unbreakable, and social media is all a Twitter with excitement. Okay, that was a bad pun but the music will certainly make up for it.
Preceded by the lukewarm lead single, “No Sleeep,” Unbreakable is poised to top the Billboard 200 chart this week and rightfully so. In fact, the record stands as the strongest effort by the singer since 1997’s The Velvet Rope with very little filler and a clear message that she is finally ready to transcend pop music trends.
Missy Elliott and J. Cole are the only features on the surprisingly short Unbreakable but only one of them brought the heat. That was a hint. Get it?
I won’t give away more of my opinions regarding Unbreakable in this writeup. Watch the new episode of Trini Trent TV for all the details.
