Trini Trent Radio: Not My Religion

“If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them” – Leviticus 20:13

Every young Christian who has attended church, Sunday school or had a strict religious parent should know that line from the bible. Probably because it was used to remind them that their sexual orientation should align with heteronormative behaviour.

LGBT people are often far too familiar with the shame, anger and rejection that plagues various sectors of the Christian community. All stemming from a book teachings that are supposed to be centred on love and acceptance.

So, those LGBT church members who wish to conform, suppress their sexuality or seek conversion. As both Terry Torro and I have observed, many men are known to do exactly as Andrew Caldwell did at the 2014 COGIC Holy Convention.

There is a special hypocrisy that occurs in the Christian community. It blasts LGBT people, especially gay men, for being “abominations” but happily accepts congregation members who drink alcohol, eat pork, shellfish and rabbit, and cover their bodies or “temples” with tattoos.

Of course, we can’t overlook those heterosexual couples who use contraception, engage in oral sex or “pull out” before ejaculation; all of which break religious code.

So, in this episode of the Trini Trent Radio podcast, we challenge the bible-beaters and share our views on Christianity. Some of you may be offended but this is a discussion that needs to happen.
