It took years to push Mariah Carey’s video for “H.A.T.E.U.” to the dark corners of my mind but thanks to Tamar Braxton, memories of that awful clip have come rushing back. Seriously, the self-proclaimed “100% lamb” of the diva has recreated “H.A.T.E.U.” for her own “Love & War” video.
Braxton frolics on a beach, poses against a jagged rock in moments of anguish and even matches Carey’s hair colour in the “Love & War” video. The only difference between this and “H.A.T.E.U.”? It was shot in black and white, and Braxton is about four dress sizes slimmer than her idol.

It’s okay for Braxton to channel her influences through her material but after a certain point, it becomes rather scary. The “Love & War” video was clearly filmed on a budget and instead of using those funds to craft a production of her own, Braxton simply imitated Carey.
