New Song: Shontelle – ‘Freaky (Ft. Gyptian)’

    Do you remember Shontelle? You know, the other girl from Barbados who scored a hit with ‘Impossible’ but struggled to followup in the wake from Rihanna’s chart dominance in 2010? Well, she’s back with a new song called ‘Freaky (Ft. Gyptian)’.

    Sampling Red Rat’s ‘Tight-up Skirt’, Shontelle stays true to her West Indian roots with the Reggae Fusion ‘Freaky’. Yet, don’t let me spoil the fun of you discovering the song. Listen to it below:

    ‘Freaky’ is a clever song but Gyptian seemed a bit out of place on the track. Perhaps Shontelle should have enlisted another act, such as Sean Paul, for the tune because his voice would have been a better fit. Still, ‘Freaky’ is a solid effort and with slightly tighter production, it could even be a hit if officially released.
