New Song: Melanie Fiona – ‘This Time (Ft. J. Cole)’

Melanie Fiona is determined to make an impact on the charts with her upcoming ‘The MF Life’ album. As such, the R&B singer enlisted her Roc Nation partner J. Cole for her new single, ‘This Time’, in effort to achieve her goals.

The Lauryn Hill-flavoured ‘This Time’ is the opening cut on Fiona’s ‘The MF Life’ LP. The full album will hit stores on March 20th. Listen to ‘This Time’ below:

‘This Time’ has the right production to gain airplay on both the Urban and Rhythmic formats. Fiona has yet to release a tune that directly targets Top 40/Mainstream radio and it is obvious that she has little interest to crossover. Hence, focusing on scoring a hit in her lane is her safest bet for success.

I am getting more and more excited about the MF Life. I just hope that Melanie gets the recognition she deserves. She is so talented, I hope her album sales will reflect that.

I like the fact that she is changing up her sound a little bit while still keeping her R&B roots. That’s rare nowadays. Can’t wait to get the album.

She looks great in that pic. The song is nice to. It does have a Lauren Hill feel to it as well.
