Jennifer Hudson & Chaka Khan To Honor Whitney Houston At Grammys

Whitney Houston’s sudden death has stunned the entertainment industry and many people have been speculating how the producers of the upcoming 2012 Grammy Awards ceremony would honor the legendary entertainer. Thankfully, they have selected a duo of singers with the ability to do her songs justice – Jennifer Hudson and Chaka Khan.

Although the setlist has yet to be announced, Hudson and Khan have been named as the performers who will sing a tribute to Houston. There is no word regarding if other acts will join the lineup but Alicia Keys, Monica, Brandy and Mary J. Blige are all expected to honor their fallen idol at Clive Davis’ pPre-Grammy Awards Gala shortly.

Houston and Khan performed together at Vh1 Divas in 1999. Watch their rendition of ‘I’m Every Woman’ below:

my whitney is gone. i can’t believe it 🙁

I really doubt Whitney fans care about this. They only want her idol back and a tribute may sound meaningless to them right now….
I’m okay with Chaka, I really don’t care about Jennifer being there.

I’m still in shock. I just cnt believe it, only yesterday I left a comment on her post. She was truely one of THE greats! Chaka I can understand, but imma need Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Dionne Warwick or even Kelly Price to take JHud’s place. Whitney was an amazing vocalist but she never yelled, a habit jennifer has. Just my opinion. Rest in Peace and I pray God wraps his loving arms around Bobbi Kristina and her loved ones.

It still doesn’t sink in. It just happened so suddenly. I’m sure they’ll give a wonderful performance.

Add Kim Burrell to that list away. She was Whitney’s fav singer. Their duet of I Look to You at BET Awards was simply stunning. This still seems sureal, talks of tributes alredi, its so hard to comprehend she’s gone. Thank God music lives on forever!

They need the remaining members of the Vocal Trinity, Mariah and Celine to do it, Christina could do it, but Idon t want her to scream… Kelly is a yes.

    • I totally agree with Cindy and Tim. Other supreme vocalists like Mariah Carey and Celine Dion, even Patti Labelle, need to honor Whitney. Come on Grammy higher-ups, Mariah even sang a duet (“When You Believe”) with Whitney.
